"When the mode of the music changes, the walls of the city shake" - Plato Examples of different modes of music: "Rockin' Robin" by Bobby Day "I'd Like it Like That" by Pete Rodriguez Movie Day: Romeo + Juliet
Talking about the Movie |
What's mode mean?Mode, in music, refers to any of several ways of ordering the notes of a scale according to the intervals they form with the tonic, thus providing a theoretical framework for the melody.
A mode is the vocabulary of a melody; it specifies which notes can be used and indicates which have special importance. Of these, there are two principal notes: the final, on which the melody ends, and the dominant, which is the secondary centre. - From Encyclopedia Britannica |

Situation ActivityImagine you’re in your bedroom… you’re reading a book on your bed.
Your parents have already gone to sleep and it’s completely silent except for the muffled noises you can hear from outside your room… all of a sudden you hear your phone go off
You have a text from your friend they want you to come hang out at the local burger place down the street
You decided you can’t pass this up, you have to sneak out, but you have to creep past your parents bedroom to get outside so your quietly leave your room and head for the stairs.
|
You’ve made it past and start tip-toeing down the stairs when you accidently step on the creaky stair and the noise echoes throughout the whole house. …
Ohh craaapp, you hear your dad whisper “What was that?” You hear him get out on bed and start making his way to the bedroom door. You have to hide
He turns on the light looks down the stairs and sees your dog, Ali still sleeping and everything still in place so he turn off the light and goes bad to the bedroom
